Last night Sofya and I ventured out to Cobble Hill, a neighborhood in downtown Brooklyn, on a little date. First we went to see Nine. Nine was a fantastic film. Marion Cotillard (whom I love, love love!) and Penelope Cruz made the movie in my opinion. Both women played painful characters and even though they were in love with the same man, the audience can sympathize with both. The musical numbers were fantastical, beautiful and very sexy. This is the kind of movie that makes you want to break out into song and dance when the credits start rolling. I definitely recommend it. Anyway, we planned to go to Joya afterwards but it was closed so we went to Ghang one block down. Neither of us had been there before.
Ghang is a hip Thai restaurant that’s chic yet cozy. The service is quick and not over-bearing. We split a fried calamari (no picture) which was good and not greasy. Then we each ordered Glass Noodles with chicken (only $8 each.)
The noodles were sauteed in a brown sauce with egg and vegetables. They were scrumptious. Also, they did not clump together as glass noodles have the tendency to do. Sofya and I both agreed that Ghang is better than Joya.
I wanted to take a picture of the restaurant because I adore the interior and it didn’t come out so clear but pretty cool nonetheless.

This is the Brooklyn Borough Hall building, if I’m not mistaken. It’s a crappy picture but it was freezing out and I was not about to stand there perfecting it. Pretty, right?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone! And definitely see Nine if you have the chance.
