100th Post! - Shake Shack

It’s so nice being off from school. Even though I have a part-time job, I still have a lot of free time on my hands to roam about, be with friends and eat, of course! Too bad this will only last for another few weeks.

Yesterday I went to Shake Shack for the first time. Shake Shack is one of Danny Meyer’s famed eateries, with three New York locations (and counting.) Shake Shack is noted for the quality of their food, which includes burgers, fries and frozen custard as well as a few other classic favorites. The location I went to, in Madison Square Park, has heated outdoor seating; which, although will not protect you from the wicked wind chill, will allow you to eat outdoors in the winter at least semi-comfortably.

My friend and I each ordered a ShackBurger and fries and we shared a double frozen custard – Monday’s flavor is Roasted Chesnut.

The ShackBurger comes with lettuce, tomato, American cheese and ShackSauce, and it is served on a yummy super-soft bun, which I’m pretty sure was Brioche.

This burger was incredible. It was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. You can really taste the quality of all the ingredients. Five Guys now has some competition in my book…

The fries were also great – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – just the way fries should be.

The custard was delicious too. It was very creamy and tasted homemade. We ate as much of it as we could, which was about half, but honestly had no more stomach room.

I am definitely coming back to this place for my next burger fix. The food is absolutely mouthwatering (it’s even hard writing about it now) and the prices are beyond reasonable. For more information visit: www.ShakeShack.com.

P.S: This is my 100th post! Wow. I can’t believe one hundred already.

Thank you everyone who reads my blog!

Also, today I’m leaving to Montreal for a few days, so happy New Year’s everyone! I look forward to sharing more with you in 2010.

All my love.

Sasha, congratulations on 100 posts! That's a real milestone. Oh, man, that photo makes me miss burgers. That's one thing you really can't find here in Belgium. We have fabulous fries, but no burgers. Well, unless you make them youself...

How long will you be in Montreal? Dan used to have an office there and I did too, so I know it pretty well. Or maybe I should say I USED TO know it pretty well! Enjoy it--it's a marvelous place.
