Lobo

…isn’t just Spanish for “wolf,” but it is also a Tex-Mex restaurant in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. A few nights ago, two of my girlfriends and I decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed.

Lobo has 2 floors – a bar and some seating on the first and lots of tables on the second. It’s nicely decorated and has good lighting. Lobo is moderately priced, has a homey atmosphere, and the friendly staff doesn’t hurt either.

Lobo has an extensive menu and I had a bit of a hard time choosing what to order. I finally settled on chicken enchiladas with the mole sauce ($13.95.)

While we waited for our food to arrive, we were served tortilla chips with salsa, which were delicious, and our drinks.

I ordered a passion fruit margarita ($7.75) but it wasn’t anything to write home about; a bit too salty, not passion fruit-y enough and too much lime juice.

After about 10 minutes our food arrived.

The generously mole-topped enchiladas were served on an oval platter between rice and beans. Everything was cooked just right and was overall delicious. It was quite spicy though, almost to the point of overshadowing all the other flavors, but I still enjoyed it. The portion size was just right, too, so I didn’t feel too full once I was done eating.

Overall, Lobo is a restaurant that I would recommend and I’m looking forward to paying another visit there.

Damsels: Mexican is one of my favorite cuisines but I don't really cook it either, except for the occasional homemade salsa. I should def. start though and put up some recipes. = )

Fashion Chalet: I love it when people tell me that my blog makes them hungry - that means it's working lol. I love your blog, by the way.

Thanks for visiting - come back soon!
